2019 Motortrend Truck of the Year - Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 features best-in-class V8 engine towing at 12,750 pounds and a max payload of 2,300 pounds. Previously, the 2018 Ram 1500 had a max towing of 10,760 pounds with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine. The increase in towing capabilities is thanks to the eTorque system, a new mild hybrid system that replaces a traditional alternator with a battery-powered motor generator.

Interior and Technology Enhancements

Inside, you'll find incredible interior updates, from the Big Horn model all the way up to the luxurious Limited. In fact, the 2019 Ram has received a complete overhaul with a new modern interior design that continues the more upscale look of the truck.  

 

The Ram has a configurable center console that can turn into an office space, with room to hold a bag and a laptop, space for your phone and drinks, and a center console lid that can function as a desk. There are premium technology enhancements, like the large Uconnect infotainment system with the option to add 12-inch touchscreen. 

The new interior features luxurious accents including real wood accents, leather, and stitching. The interior space of the 4-door crew cab got bigger with the 2019 upgrade, and the Ram 1500 now has best-in-class back-seat space. Occupants also sit a bit lower, giving everyone a bit more headroom.
